Harlan M. Reese, Esq.
Harlan M. Reese is the President and founder of Reese Law Group. Mr. Reese graduated from California State University, Fullerton, earning a B.A. in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration. He then enrolled in the evening program at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, thus allowing Mr. Reese to work for various companies during law school. Mr. Reese worked as a law clerk for a law firm specializing in defending CPAs for alleged malpractice. He then worked for the Fair Housing Congress, administering Federal HUD funds to the Fair Housing Counsels in Los Angeles. Mr. Reese also was employed as a legal intern with the California Department of Corporations.
Mr. Reese passed the California CPA exam in his first year in law school and decided to work for Certified Public Accounting Firms allowing him to earn the necessary hours to obtain a California CPA license. As such, in his final year of law school, Mr. Reese was employed by Deloitte Haskins and Sells, now known as Deloitte, working in the downtown Los Angeles tax department.
In October of 1986, after California issued his California CPA license and a year or so having received his license to practice law, Mr. Reese relocated to San Diego and worked in the tax department of two small law firms before establishing his own firm in March of 1989.
Mr. Reese has been the managing attorney since the inception of the law firm he established now known as Reese Law Group. RLG continues to represent a great number of financial institutions and insurance companies. Mr. Reese has conducted numerous trials, appeals, and arbitrations. Mr. Reese also functions as one of RLG’s compliance officers, to ensure the firm complies with all Federal, State and client-specific operational standards.
