Who Are We

Harlan M. Reese, Esq.

Harlan Reese graduated from California State University Fullerton in 1980 earning a B.A. in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration. He then enrolled in the evening program at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles, thus allowing Mr. Reese to work for various companies during law school. He worked as a law clerk in a law firm specializing in defending CPAs for alleged malpractice. He then worked for the Fair Housing Congress, administering Federal HUD funds to the Fair Housing Counsels in Los Angeles. Mr. Reese also was employed as a legal intern with the California Department of Corporations. Mr. Reese passed the California CPA exam in his first year in law school and decided to work for Certified Public Accounting Firms allowing him to earn the necessary hours to obtain a California CPA license. As such, in his final year of law school, Mr. Reese was employed by Deloitte Haskins and Sells, now known as Deloitte, working in the downtown Los Angeles tax department. In October of 1986, after California issued his California CPA license and a year or so having received his license to practice law, Mr. Reese relocated to San Diego and worked in the tax department of two small law firms before establishing his own firm in March 1989. Mr. Reese has been the managing attorney since the inception of the law firm he established now known as Reese Law Group. RLG continues to represent a great number of financial institutions and insurance companies. Mr. Reese has conducted numerous trials, appeals, and arbitrations. Mr. Reese also functions as one of RLG’s compliance officers, to ensure the firm complies with all Federal, State and client-specific operational standards.

Joseph M. Pleasant, Esq.

Joseph M. Pleasant received his B.A. in political science from San Diego State University and his J.D. from California Western School of Law. He has been a member of the California Bar since 1995 and is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in California. As an attorney with Reese Law Group since 1999, he has acquired extensive litigation and trial experience. In 2006, he began developing the firm’s subrogation practice which has grown into the firm’s predominant line of business. Mr. Pleasant has acquired some of the largest automobile and property insurance companies in the nation which comprise the bulk of the firm’s subrogation practice. As the firm’s senior litigation attorney, he continues to run and manage the firm’s subrogation practice. Mr. Pleasant has also served as the Chapter Chair for the Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals and is a frequent speaker at continuing education events focusing on subrogation and litigation.

Dana N. Meyers, Esq.

Dana N. Meyers is a senior associate at Reese Law Group. Ms. Meyers received her B.A. in Criminal Justice Administration from San Diego State University and her Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law. She has been a member of the California State Bar since 2010 and is authorized to practice in all State Courts as well as the Central District in Federal Court. As an attorney with Reese Law Group since 2011, she has acquired extensive litigation and trial experience. Ms. Meyers continues her legal education and trial training through trial advocacy classes though NITA (“National Institute for Trial Advocacy”). Ms. Meyers is a member of the San Diego Bar Association as well as a member of the Southern California Chapter of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals. She recently presented and spoke at a continuing legal education event focusing on subrogation and litigation.

James E. Delaney, Esq., MBA

James E. Delaney is an associate attorney and Compliance Officer at Reese Law Group. He received his B.A. in International Studies and his B.S. in Entrepreneurship from Northern Kentucky University. He received his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law concurrently with his Master in Business Administration from San Diego State University. Mr. Delaney has been a member of the California State Bar since 2013 and is licensed to practice in all California State courts and the United States District Court in the Southern District of California. He is a member of the San Diego County Bar Association. He was a law clerk for Reese Law Group while attending law and graduate school and has been employed with the firm full-time since August 2013. Mr. Delaney assists with day to day litigation at the firm as well as functions as one of the firm’s compliance officers to ensure that the firm complies with all Federal, State and client-specific operational standards.

Jenny R. Louro, Esq.

Jenny R. Louro is an associate attorney at Reese Law Group. Ms. Louro graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she received her bachelor’s degree in International Development Studies. She received her Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Diego, School of Law. Ms. Louro joined Reese Law Group full-time as an associate in December 2015. has been a member of the California State Bar since 2015 and is authorized to practice in all State Courts and the Southern District in Federal Court. Prior to joining Reese Law Group, Ms. Louro worked at a nationwide defense firm gaining experience in insurance defense. During law school, Ms. Louro obtained a scholarship through the Judicial Intern Opportunity Program and secured a position as a judicial extern for Judge James J. Di Cesare. Ms. Louro is a member of the San Diego Bar Association.
